eBooks: SAGE Research Methods

A guide on accessing eBooks through our various databases.

SAGE Research Methods is a database that focuses on the aspects of doing research along with providing many useful research methods resources. It provides information on writing a research question, conducting a literature review, choosing a research method, collecting and analyzing data, and writing up the findings. SAGE Research Methods’ coverage spans the full range of research methods used in the social and behavioral sciences, plus a wide range of methods commonly used in science, technology, medicine, and the humanities.

How to access SAGE Research Methods through NCI Library

  1. Go to the library's homepage
  2. Select 'eBooks' from the 'Collections' menu
  3. Scroll down to find SAGE Research Methods or select 'S' from the top menu

Browse ebooks by selecting the browse book option or...
Use the search box to search for ebooks by subject, title, or author.

SAGE Research Methods Results Page - How to filter to ebook results only

Select the 'Content available to me' option to narrow your results to items with full access.
Select the 'Content Type' option to open the drop-down menu.
De-select 'Select All' and only select the 'Books' option to narrow your results to ebooks.

Select a chapter to read or...
Search for a topic or term within the ebook.

SAGE Research Methods - How to view an ebook

You can read a chapter of an ebook at a time online - it will be displayed as seen above or...
You can download a PDF copy of a chapter.
Search for a specific term within the chapter by using the 'Find in this chapter' search box.
Browse other chapters in an ebook by selecting the 'View all chapters' option to see a list of the chapters.
