Tuesday 14th October

On Tuesday, we are highlighting some library resources:

  • The brand new NCI Library Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism Guide (6th ed.) is being launched! This guide contains a wealth of information and everything you need to know about not only referencing (using Harvard, APA, and IEEE) but also finding and evaluating sources in your research and coursework, among other things. As well as a PDF version, we have physical copies of the guide available in the library for students to take and use.
  • NCI Library's Academic Integrity Starter Guide. As with the Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism Guide, there are both PDF and physical copies available in the library.
Wednesday 15th October
  • 2025 10th International Day of Action for Academic Integrity: ‘Everyday integrity: Discovering your superpower - an exciting full day of live events with student panels, including students at all levels of study from secondary to doctoral level, faculty panels, reflections and debates, and participants in the workplace, all discussing everyday integrity with a superpower twist!
  • As part of the celebration, students worldwide were invited to enter a Comic Strip Contest that highlights the power of honesty, responsibility, and ethical choices in daily life. Entries can be in any language and the top submissions to receive gift cards worth up to $150 USD (roughly €128). See here for information about the contest and here to enter. The deadline was 11:59pm EST on the 15th October [COMPETITION CLOSED].
  • From Sources to Success: Integrity Matters. Library staff maintained a stand in the Atrium from 10am-1pm, promoting our academic integrity resources and supports.
Thursday 16th October
  • 1-2-1 Academic Integrity Support: Drop-in session on the 5th floor of the library from 10am to 12pm, for any questions students might have about academic integrity.
