Academic Integrity Guide: Epigeum for Staff

We are all responsible for maintaining NCI’s academic integrity. Explore key principles and practices in this interactive, online course.

What is Epigeum?

Epigeum is the leading provider of exceptional online courses designed to help universities and colleges transform their core activities – in teaching, research, studying and leadership and management. All NCI staff and students may access Epigeum's courses on Academic Integrity (International, 2nd edition). These constitute self-directed learning programmes with separate modules for staff and students, with certificate of completion.

Epigeum's academic integrity programme is for all members of NCI's academic community, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, and teaching, educational development and professional administrative staff.

The Epigeum course includes a robust certification framework based on key learner outcomes. The assessment is delivered using randomly selected questions to ensure learners can demonstrate knowledge across the breadth of the course before being awarded a certificate of course completion.  All NCI faculty are requested to undertake this training.

What else do I need to know?

  • The training is free to all staff and students. There is no registration fee.
  • You do not have to “book in” to do the training on a particular date. Once registered on the Epigeum system you can complete the training in your own time.
  • A token is required to access the modules. This token will be sent to you.
  • Learning via the Epigeum Academic Integrity Training Programme is self-directed.
  • The programme consists of 4 modules, each of which should take around 30 minutes to complete.
  • At the end of each module, there will be a short multiple choice quiz, each with 5 questions. You are required to pass this quiz with a score of at least 80%, but you may re-take the quiz as often as is necessary (the questions will change on re-taking the quiz). Each time you take the quiz, you are given 2 hours to complete it.
  • For technical assistance, please contact the library, see the help page or contact the Epigeum customer support team directly via this webform.
