In the Department of Psychology, the final year project is a 15 credit module which gives you the opportunity to conduct a small scale independent piece of research in psychology. This will entail the systematic design, execution and analysis of an empirical psychological study, which will be written up as an 8,000‐10,000 word dissertation. This manual is intended to provide you with the information required to complete the final year project. It contains material that will help you in carrying out the research, writing and structuring the report, and advice on how to organise your work schedule.
