In the same way that your assignments are checked for similarity, your exams will be expected to be your own work. There are serious consequences for anybody caught cheating in exams, see NCI's Academic Integrity Page for more information.

Exam Regulations

This is a summary of the exam regulations - for full details see here. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the exam regulations and make sure that you know what constitutes a breach of the regulations.

It is also your responsibility to carefully note the days, times and location of your exams – you should regularly re-check these details as they may change in the lead up to the exams

You should assemble no later than 10 minutes before the allotted time of your exam – entry to an exam is not permitted more than 30 minutes after it has started

You cannot bring into an exam room any electronic device (including mobile phones and any other wearable technology such as smart watches or fitness trackers) that could be used to assist you in the exam – the only exception would be permitted calculators; any breach of this is seen as a very serious offense. Students are required to check their devices into the cloakroom for the duration of their exam where the device will be securely locked.

Seat yourself at the desk with your designated number as written on the notice board in the exam room – do not move any papers or start writing until you get permission

Only permitted materials are allowed on the desks - pencil cases are not permitted; your student card should be visibly displayed on the desk

It is your responsibility to make sure that you are answering the correct paper – also be aware that some papers have questions on both sides of the sheet

The earliest you can leave the exam is 30 minutes after the start time

There should be no talking in the exam room – if you have any questions, raise your hand and you will attended to by the invigilator or one of the attendants

If you wish to temporarily leave the exam room, you can only do so with permission and accompanied by an attendant; you cannot leave the exam within the last 30 minutes

At the end of an exam, you should remain seated while the papers are collected – it is your responsibility to make sure your paper is collected

If you are unable to attend an exam due to medical or other unavoidable reasons, you should submit an Examination Deferral form to the Exams Office as soon as possible.
