Troubleshooting

  • If a Library printer/photocopier is out of toner, please let a member of the library staff know
  • If paper is required, check in the vicinity of the device, there are usually reams of paper available. If not, contact a member of library staff
  • If the printer/photocopier jams, refer to instructions on screen to remove jammed page or contact a member of library staff
  • If you get an error when you swipe your card, e.g. "Card not recognised", please log a ticket online via NCI360 or contact a member of the IT Support Staff in the office located on the fourth floor of the College.

If the printer/photocopier is displaying an error, or constantly not working, please contact a member of library staff

Printing and Photocopying @NCI for Students

Photocopyinh

Introduction

There are a number of printer/photocopiers in the NCI Library, which can be used for printing, photocopying and scanning. Printing and photocopying in NCI is charged to students using a credit management system linked to their network account and student ID card.

  • Printing costs are charged as you print / photocopy
  • You require sufficient credit to complete a print job, e.g. if you only have enough credit to print 5 pages but your print job is 8 pages, the job will not print until you have increased your credit
  • You require your student ID card to use the printer/photocopiers as it uses a swipe and release system.
  • Credit may be topped up online linking to your Print & Copy Credit Account (read more)

Tip: Only use the colour printer/photocopier for colour printing / photocopying when absolutely necessary

Documents sent to the printer/photocopiers are charged to your account at the time you send the job to print. The cost of the job is credited back to your account if:

  • you cancel the job from the printer/photocopier, or
  • you do not release the job within 24 hours

Location of printer/photocopiers:  There is one black and white printer/photocopier in front of the library desk, one colour printer/photocopier in the Assistive Technology room, one black and and white and one colour printer/photocopier on the right hand wall in the library (just past the computers), and one black and white printer/photocopier in the Student Self Service Hub on the first floor.

Checking your credit: You can check your current credit status from any of the following:

  • Printer/Photocopiers: Swipe your card on any of the printer/photocopiers; the screen displays your current credit
  • Online Print Credit Account: Login using your current network username and password to view your current credit, and transactions Read More
